Hi my district switched from Novell to Active Directory this year and all our machines are now running Windows 10.After only 2 days of school half a dozen of the computers in our computer tech lab have had the login screen background changed by the students. None of them have administrative privileges. I don't know how they did it.I want to set the background on the login screen via GPO so they all look uniform when I work in the lab. It's annoying to turn them on and see odd ones with different screens. It makes me think there's something wrong with those, I almost want to re-imagethem again but that would be a stupid waste of time over a background image. If someone could point me to where the GPO setting is I would appreciate it. Hi,What's your current build? Please update your Windows to Windows 10 1703 build 15063.540 and then configure this group policy:Computer ConfigurationAdministrative TemplatesControl PanelPersonalizationForce a specific default lock screen imageI have done test and it works fine.

You can configure the sign-in screen background you want on the Lock screen settings page, too. Select “” for an automatically changing selection of images from Microsoft, or select “Picture” or “Slideshow” to choose your own preferred background image. The image you select here will appear as both your lock screen background and sign-in screen background. If you’d rather use a flat color instead of a background image, disable the “Show lock screen background picture on the sign-in screen”. Navigate to Settings Personalization Colors. The color you choose here will be used for your sign-in screen background as well as other elements on the Windows desktop.

Windows 10 Login Background Changer Tools
There are a number of aspects to our Windows 10 corporate branding / look and feel that I have implemented recently with three main changes involved. I haven’t personally however I seen something similar that is happening to a colleague who contacted me only last week. In his case he is seeing a black background with the default Hero wallpaper missing. He hasn’t resolved this yet however my initial reaction was to suggest looking at Group Policy and ensuring that only a Windows 10 GPO was applying and no older GPO’s that were intended for Windows 7 or older (using WMI filters or a separated OU structure in AD). I’ve also seen situations where a bad unattend.xml file can cause this behaviour or where the default profile has been altered with a copy profile action. Best way to eliminate this sort of thing is to deploy your wim file outside of your production environment using MDT and confirm if you have the same issue, if you do, its a problem with the WIM file, if you don’t then its an issue with something environmental in your prod environment or something that you Task Sequence is doing to the image.
Basically start eliminating things that modify the image in any way slowly until you identify the problem. Hope this helps. Thanks for your suggestions, But am running this up in a brand new lab environment(2 Servers, DC & MDT/WDS). Seems to have resolved itself which is strange.Had a lovely issue trying to build my reference image where it would not Sysprep because of an AppX package changing for the administrator user. Only after a day of work and multiple rebuilds of task sequences, I found that the Windows Store was updating the software in the background, but only for the logged in user which causes a Sysprep error. Solution, disable internet access while building images.Anyway thanks for this blog some really useful information.
